I restored the image to another microSD card I had and it works again. Popping off the back was a bit more complicated than suggested, or my reader is of a different construction. On mine the front 'rim' comes off exposing the PCB. I than had to undo 4 tiny screws and lift the PCB out. The micro SD was on the back of the PCB. When I have time I will try to write the image to the microSD when in situ. DFSEE sees it when the reader is connected to the pc, so it should be able to write the image> Easier than having to take the reader apart. I also took a look at the card with the faulty update on it, it produced a lot of read errors at the end. After writing an image to it the read errors were gone so the media itself is not defective.
