Considering the amount of info that gets logged and sent to Amazon when you have the Wi-Fi on, I don't think it really makes that much difference whether de-DRM'd book are side-loaded or sent via the Amazon cloud. Maybe the devs could confirm whether DRM status is part of the logs?
