Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936) was a British Author, born in India, and worldwide famous for works like "The Jungle Book", "Kim" or the poem "If". He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1907, which made him the first English language writer to get it.
"The Second Jungle Book" is a collection of 8 short stories and poems first published in 1894-5. Previous stories were published in "
The Jungle Book". Some of the stories deal with the wolf-child Mowgli, most involve animals and are set in India, but there are also a couple of them which look completely unrelated.
This edition is illustrated by J. L. Kipling (the author's father), including drop caps.
