I haven't checked into this thread in a while, mostly because things have been out of control. Does one show up at an AA meeting while still on a bender?

April wasn't too bad, as I ended the month with no net gain to my TBR. May, of course, saw another Kobo contest, and I bought a total of 21 books for $40, or 18 books for $35 if I don't count three replacements of old paperbacks. The outlay is far from disastrous, but I only read 11 books and only 5 of them were purchased ebooks. Any hopes of reading more than I bought this year were dashed during the multi-use 90% code, but my game plan had been to draw a line under that sale and start fresh and I blew it.

The one bright spot is that I haven't bought a Kindle deal in seven weeks; I've been tempted a few times but walked away. This means that at least all my May purchases were wishlist at a good price. I hope not to buy anything at all in June (so far, so good). There's nothing on my wishlist that I'd get to soon, so even if there's another contest, I think I can sit it out.
