The T1, T2, & T3 will be able to download the ePub using the ASCM file. Older Sony readers cannot except the 900 (if the firmware is updated to allow this). All of the older Sony Readers do not have WiFI or cell data. So they cannot connect to an Adobe server to download the ePub.

Also, there are a number of Readers that won't ever get upgraded that are still in use today. Some might not even be possible to upgrade to handle the new DRM because there might not be enough space in the hardware.

All we know is that once ADE 3.0 is installed and an ePub is download that becomes ADE 3.0 encrypted and no longer works on a user's Reader, that's the day Amazon wins.
