Finished The Martian a couple days ago and then read Walker by Michael Langlois. I enjoyed it, but the sequel isn't out yet and it is a fairly abrupt ending. I consider it more of an intro than anything else. Hopefully he will continue the story at some point. I may try The Lost Gate by Orson Scott Card or The Man Who Crossed Worlds by Chris Strange at some point soon. The review said that these were better written but still have similar concepts.
Tomorrow I will start Hyperion by Dan Simmons for the book club. Really looking forward to it.
