Pretty much the same for custom fonts, line spacing, margins, etc. The Aura HD is more Android friendly with it's internal uSD card allowing for disaster recovery if you brick it.

If you check the Kobo Developer's Corner, the Instructions for Patching Firmware 3.3.x (also 3.4.1) https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=238175 has a decent collection of information on patching the Kobo firmware.

There are also threads about adding other reader software (KOReader and CoolReader).
