Helen, the top Ortho surgeon in the Kingdom, (trained in the US, with surgical privileges in several major US hospitals,) the only one permitted to attend the Royal Family, diagnosed my back problems as requiring spinal fusion. He put me in a full back brace, dosed me heavily with muscle relaxants and opiate pain meds, and we were awaiting an OR opening when I met Dr. Jolie Bookspan. She said 'don't let them cut!' and gave me a series of movement exercises to do... Within just a couple of weeks I was out of the brace, no longer taking the pain meds, and haven't had a problem with my back since! The point is, just because a doctor is called 'the top specialist in the country' it doesn't mean he's the best doctor in the country, or knows how to do anything other than cut. If you only have a hammer, every job requires a nail. A surgeon only has a scalpel...
