Well, it is a strictly Jewish belief that it was written by G-d, isn't it? We have our own laws about what ownership means. Besides, I'm think the lunatic fringe (who would feel the compulsive need to protest things) remains firmly convinced that a public domain is a public piece of property that anyone can walk through -- they probably haven't heard of copyright yet.

According to Christianity it was "divinely inspired" meaning it was the brainchild of Moses. Who has been dead for a lot longer than 70 years.
