Right now I'm recuperating. I just spent the afternoon (and then some) replacing our nine (hard-wired, AC powered, interconnected) smoke detectors. They're all ceiling mounted, and they all required new wiring harnesses and bases. The wiring is short, so there was a lot of reaching, stretching, and putting things together without really being able to see them.
But, everything powered up okay, the battery back-ups are working, they all tested good and when any one unit alarmed it triggered them all, so I think I'm done.
