I just finished complaining to Kobo about this lack, specifically in regards to EPUB3 books that don't have download buttons. Until they resolve that issue, I'll be buying the affected books at Sony, which has no such limitation, doesn't use bizarre DRM (like Nook) or nonstandard formats (like Kindle), and often has lower prices on Big Five books anyway. True, they don't have coupons, but Kobo doesn't allow promo codes on Big Five books, so that's a wash.
