Much easier to control...

Dreams, they actually make 'special' umbrellas just for this purpose. English made, they have a lightweight unbreakable center post correctly 'balanced' for accuracy. Not sharpened to a fine point, but tapered enough to get the job done. They sell for about $250 USD and completely legal to carry, even in the UK and US. There are also actual sword umbrellas made in South Africa, the sort where a fine steel sharpened rapier-style weapon can be withdrawn from the body of the umbrella. These sell for about $400 USD and are illegal to carry in most countries.
