My rock the boat vote would have been for the brand that got me started with MobileRead-ing, Palm. It became obsolete, for me, when the
AvantGo news service went of out business, but that wasn't Palm's fault.
My current favorite is mentioned at the left of this post. The event that will make that obsolete is the death of Whispernet. Hopefully that's far off.
However, I did not vote due to lack of experience with current models of any brand.
