They are everywhere on my transformer as well. On every screen top right hand cornor the shop icon and can be found; also in playbooks, magazine, video & music apps as well (no different than Amazon).
My point is that all of them Amazon,Google, Sony, Samsung, Apple, and Kobo are guilty of this, so to accuse Amazon of this while the other blatantly do the same is disingenuous.
