I'd be surprised if you didn't have a really hard time moving back from the pixel density of the HDX and Nexus 7.2 back to the Kindle HD. Maybe not for gaming or watching video but you should really notice it as a reader.
I've actually paid more than $400 for my last tablet (GT 7.7) and dumped it in favor of the Nexus 7.2, the screen is that much improved!
