IIRC there was a bug, which only occurs when the screen had been touched directly after putting the device to sleep. Then the battery was drained, as if the device was still active. Is it possible, that this also occurs, when suspending the device from CoolReader? I remember having touched the screen to put the device into the cover.
From your post and your email I'understood:

Yes, It seems that your device was not sleeping. I'll add the extended log info on Monday:
1. Battery level before suspend
2. Battery level after resume
3. Battery level after each page turn

And we will find out where the charge gone
