The sheer cluelessness of the Internet commentariat never fails to shock and amaze. "Hurr durr Apple is dumb, too stupid to even meet demand, amirite guys?" The iPhone rollout is probably one of the most logistically complicated operations in supply chain management and distribution that has ever occurred, and some schmoe on a forum—whose professional and educational experience almost certainly have no bearing whatsoever on the tasks under discussion—thinks that Apple should just snap its fingers and magically produce exactly the required number of devices with absolute foresight and precision every single time. It's the kind of comment that can only be produced in a bubble of perfect ignorance since even cursory knowledge of the enormous difficulties of managing this kind of launch would install some measure of humility.
But like I said, if you've got it all figured out, go ahead and do what Apple does.
