I do most of my reading on my tablet (using Mantano) but I do use my paperwhite outside in bright light and when I'm charging my tablet. I honestly don't know what they could do to the hardware to improve it significantly. Maybe if I used it more I would have some hardware gripes but the only things I don't like are software issues and those would likely be upgraded to match whatever the new version can/will do.
