Is that what most people do, log out?
I only update if there is something I see that I want or need. I actually prefer to sideload. When I was attempting to sync, it became clear to me that the kobo was very busy uploading data to the mothership, as I soon received an email of recommended reads, based on content that is on my device. Coincidence? I don't think so. I don't plan to try to sync again.
So if there is an update in the future that I want, I will sideload it, but, I don't plan to update..."if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
