Yep. I remember when the comic book series first came out. I didn't read that one, though I did read
Watchmen. Comparing the comic book version to the movie via Wikipedia was interesting. Some philosophical shifts between the two, I think.
I'm afraid I must agree about Portman's acting.
I thought Hugo Weaving did ok considering the limitations of working from behind a mask, but I liked him well enough as Agent Smith.
