Since you are using the Quick Start guide. I'll assume you are using the GUI. The converted book (PDF in this case) was added to the same book record that you started the conversion from.

As long as you are using the GUI there is never a need to poke around in any folders. The book and the formats associated with it are right there in the GUI. Of course if you like poking around feel free, just make sure you add and delete books and files via the GUI or the database gets confused and shortly there after the user often wonders what happened.

If you use the command line you can send the output file anywhere you like, but if you use the GUI it is as itimpi states above.
