Well, a hundred miles is nothing around here ... I have to go that far just to get groceries.
I do remember the Minster ... I think I took a photo of it. All I really remember about York, however, is that the bathroom of the youth hostel was set up like a bowling alley, with the door at one end .... and about 20 feet by 4 feet to the other end where the toilet was. Light switch was on the hall side of the door ... not in the room itself. No windows.
And, I spent most of the night at the toilet end of the room being hideously sick, and long about three in the morning someone walked by the WC and noticed that the light was on .... so they turned it off. I immediately heard "things" skittering across the floor, so I pulled my feet up and stayed there for the next four hours, still being hideously sick, but in the dark, with company.
And .... that was my adventure in York.
