Much of the action and/or solution in the previous books have, IMO, involved Reacher's size. This one doesn't. It's also a boring, drawn-out plot. Very sad.

I read the book shortly after it came out. I noticed a difference, but not in the way you describe it. What I noticed is that it felt like Reacher was older, and no longer the one-man Armageddon as portrayed in previous novels. And looks like he's getting too old for the ladies too...
