Using the SD card requires your computer to have a SD card reader. Some PCs have one built-in, but you can also get a separate reader, usually a small USB device. When you plug the SD card into the reader and the reader into the PC, it works just like a USB flash drive.

Another option is to use a microSD (not miniSD) card. Your Clip Zip will take those up to 32GB. You can either use a card reader to copy MP3 files to the card like a SD card, or copy the MP3 files to the card while it's installed in the Clip Zip. To use a microSD card in your car stereo, you'll need little microSD-to-SD adapter, which is often sold packaged with microSD cards. Then just pop the microSD card out of your Clip Zip, plug it into the adapter, and then plug the adapter into your car stereo.

BTW, your Android phone may also use microSD cards.
I just found out about the flash drive from Catlady. Are you sure that your not related to tubemonkey? He seems to introduce new devices when I have just wrapped my head around the previous one. I haven't ever, no never, used an sd card, inserted an sd card or let alone used one with an adapter. I may have to draw the line at adapters and cables.
