Then why even discuss it? Nothing will ever meet the bar you just set with this post. There's taking issue with the absolute nature of the statement, and then there's taking issue with the idea that the statement represents, and you seem to be doing the latter while shutting down any realistic debate on the subject by demanding evidence with a vague enough bar that you may never be satisfied.
What sample size would be appropriate? 1000? 10000? 1 million? The biggest sample size we have available to our eyes is just short of a thousand and it still lends evidence to the idea that the majority are happy with their screens.

When discussing speculation and hypothesis, demanding evidence that would be able to support a theory just shuts conversation down, which I suspect is really what you want.
Here's the thing, it's completely possible to approach speculation and hypothesis rationally, and even discuss how one would go about proving or disproving the idea before solid evidence is presented. Part of getting that evidence is figuring out what to look for via hypothesis. That's part of the scientific process. You can't go from "Huh, that's interesting" to "Proof!" in one or two jumps.
The best we can really do here is ask ourselves which is more reasonable and likely. Occam's and Hanlon's razor are good tools for this to come up with the most reasonable and level-headed hypothesis.
I'm not really sure why you want to call me "Applely" as if it's some kind of stereotype. Am I defending Amazon? Really? After I said I believe they screwed up in not just one way, but two?
