The former, with two differences:

1. I find Dropbox too expensive, so I use Microsoft SkyDrive instead of Dropbox.

2. I don't backup my SkyDrive account to other media. I have Calibre installed on two separate computers, both of which has mirrors of my SkyDrive, which basically means there's at all times three separate copies of my library: 1) SkyDrive, 2) My PC laptop, 3) My Mac desktop. That's enough backups for me.
