Per this link, the Logos Android Bible runs fine on the Kindle Fire 1st Gen but does not yet run on the Logos HD 16 Gb. See this link:

Here was the Logos comment on the new requirements: "After checking out Amazon's updated Kindle Fire Development guide it does appear they added some additional qualifiers to be eligible as an "HD App". There's still hope that with some minor tweaks we can get the app available on the new Kindle Fire HD series of devices without needing to sideload and we'll do what we can to make that happen."
I'm getting my Kindle Fire HD 32 Gb on Oct 25. Hopefully, Logos will make the required adjustments by then to be able to install it from the Amazon App Store without a problem.
