Just an update to my previous post here: eventually Kobo Customer service replied, asked me to do a soft-reset, then factory-reset, etc. to no avail, the book I had bought on the Kobo website was still not showing up on Kobo Desktop or Kobo Touch. Mailed this back to them.

Got a reply giving me instructions on how to download the book using Adobe Digital Editions. Did this & transferred the book to my Kobo Touch. Even though I was glad I finally had the book on my reader, I was not happy because this mean:
1. Since it's not the kepub, apparently it doesn't show in the same font / size / etc. a kepub does, so when switching books I had to constantly alter the font size, etc.
2. Even though I now had the book on my reader, I couldn't sync / download it to my iPhone or Kobo Desktop to read and keep it sync'd with the reader.

Eventually kept on fiddling around with the book, I went to the website and in 'My Purchases', I bookmarked the book a few times, then I went to the Kobo Desktop, where the book was somehow sync'd this time, opened the book on the Desktop, and made some 'notes' in the book. After this, I finally got my Kobo Touch to sync the book!!!

I hope Kobo will resolve this issue, as it is obviously a bug more than one person is experiencing!
