Exactly what I was suggesting in post #24... The "full" Google Voice isn't available anywhere except the US. The OP is in New Zealand. Email to sms works great, you just need to know the "gateway" such as "@fido.ca" for example... The email is sent to "phone#@fido.ca" and the recipient gets an sms on their phone, that they can then use to reply, which arrives into original sender's email inbox. All you need to know is your contact's service provider, look up the gateway and add to your contacts.
