Fantasy I loved adored the Game of Thrones books but would never in a million years read Harry Potter or Lord Of The Rings. Again I do not do children's books and require real action with adult themes, lots of real violence and you can throw in some sex.
There are a lot of legitimate complaints that can be leveled at LotR -- that it's a "children's book" is not really one of them, IMO. It's 1100 pages and deals with some pretty serious themes. Though I suppose if you automatically define anything that doesn't contain explicit sex and gruesome violence as for children...
