They wouldn't have to "support" multiple versions, if someone contacts them about a problem with an old version they tell that person to download the current version.
If that person then still has the problem on the current version Kobo can deal with it.
It seems to me most software companies "offer" their updates, unless you have ticked the auto update box, which personally I don't do.
What do other eReader companies do regarding updates ?
