There seems to be an ingrained fascination with the rich and famous. This is a societal issue that goes well beyond corporate marketing. That indie author is now rich and famous, thus attracting public interest.

I don't give a damn about famous people and would strongly prefer not to be famous. I don't seem to be in the majority.

If anyone would like to slip me a few billion dollars, however, I will accept with grace and humility.
