This is the story of Harvey Mapes... a security guard who love to read private dick novels, and ends up being asked to do some detecting by a guy in the community that Harvey protects. Well, if you call sitting in a guard shack during the graveyard shift watching CCTV.

The story started interesting but really didn't go anywhere. Another "thriller" that didn't really thrill me.

What Next???

I really ready for a gripping read that I won't want to put down, and will feel sad when it's over... but happy to find there is a Sequel or next story in the series that is even better.

Bob have you come across the Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Winspear?

Maisie is a PI and psychologist in 1930's London. Most enjoyable series - well written and sufficiently complex to immerse oneself.
