I'm facing the same dilemma - Kobo touch or Sony T1. I like the Kindle touch but dont like the price differential between UK and US for the hardware, I'm in the Uk. I also dont like the fact that you can't link to libraries in the UK with kindle which is short sighted of Amazon, I want a reader that let's me download library books easily and the Sony wins that competition as you don't need a PC to do it. Why buy a reader that doesn't let you borrow library books for free! Sort it out Amazon.
I prefer the form factor, UI and non reflective bezel of the Kobo, but having played with both the touch screens the Kobo seems a bit flakey compared to the Sony - can anyone confirm this?
If they were the same price I would buy the Sony for the convemience of on device library book downloads, but there is a £50 price difference so the Kobo would appear better value. Anyone have experience of getting library books onto a kobo? As a traveller I like the fact that I could be at any airport in the world and download a library book to the Sony from my local library that has a great selection of ebooks - but is this convenience worth £50 when I could realistically just put them on a Kobo before I leave the UK.
Is the Sony touch screen more responsive that the Kobo as it appears to be in my tests with demo versions?
The Kobo wins on settings in a book, fonts, margins, justification etc... And also let's you configure refresh rate which the Sony doesn't - it also has tap to turn rather than swipe, although it doesn't take much to swipe the Sony so not a deal breaker for me - I also understand there is a simple way to get the Sony to tap page turn - can anyone point me in the right direction on this.
Any advice, experiences with either device much appreciated.
