Try red text on the black background. Once your eyes adjust to it, you will be able to read the screen just fine. Saves your night vision as well.

I recently bought a mighty-brite single aaa flex lamp thingy for my STR to be used for night time reading, but I find myself using it much more often.

It visibly increases the contrast when reading books in low to medium light levels as well as reading in bed at night with no other lights on.

If the Glow could replicate that without losing too much battery life and contrast I will buy one. But the light I bought was only $10 and I use rechargeable batteries for it...
