So unless Sony and Adobe agree on the content of the device.xml file, and Sony adds it during an update someday, we can't use ADE to put books on a T1.
Edit- Sideloading does indeed work, else Sony would have one less customer.
I still haven't gotten Reader of Mac to even start up on my MacBook w/ 10.6.6... Some sort of permissions problem, as far as I can tell.

Yes, sideloading works for everything except for books with B&N DRM. For these, you should not need ADE at all unless you want to use ADE to read with (accessibility etc.). I really think Sony miscalculates by not implementing handling of B&N. It's one of my few complaints about the device.
FWIW, I had Reader running on 10.6.6 and it still runs after upgrade to 10.7.x.
