Perhaps leaving them "en masse" was a bad idea.

I've read comments on the BookCrossing site which suggest that books released into the wild, as opposed to controlled release - giving them to someone - are less likely to be "found" and subsequent journal entries made on BC's site.

Although it's free to register the book, the stickers cost money; not a lot, but enough to make charity shops a better idea for the releaser.
