Look, Flint puts it better than I do: you don't build a business model (i.e. figure how to make money) and then make reality conforms to it; what you do is look at how reality is and try to build a business that works with it.
Please don't make assumptions based on insufficient evidence about which way I jump in the matter. I'm well aware of the Baen Free Library, and have all of it on my computer and converted for my PDA. I'm probably closer to your point of view than any other.

My point was simply that passing a pbook to someone else and passing an ebook to someone else are not equivalent actions, for the reasons I stated.

I have my own moral stance: I'll happily copy and share books whose licenses permit me to do so. I don't do so otherwise, and it doesn't matter if DRM is present or not. I also buy a lot of books (to the point where I have an offsite storage facility in part to hold the overflow), so I don't feel like I'm depriving authors of sales.
