There's a major hiccup with the ipad as a business device. Businesses can't manage them remotely. Apple does have an 'ipad configurator' but it requires physically plugging in the device to the computer that manages the configuration. I know executives love them (ours certainly do!) but when you're talking about proprietary or HIPAA protected information being synced with the 'cloud', IT shops still have big concerns.

Take a look at the AFARIA environment.
Our company certainly uses it to configure, manage and wipe iphones and ipads remotely from a central location. Of course, it costs a bit.
