Glad to hear you got your eDGe updated to the latest version of Android. This is different than rooting.

You need to register your EDGe with Adobe. Did you download and install Adobe Digital Editions to your PC and setup an Adobe account?

This authorizes Adobe Digital Editions to your PC. Once this is done, use the USB cable to connect your eDGe to the PC with Adobe Digital Editions program open, and Turn On or Mount the eDGe. Adobe Digital Editions should recognize the eDGe and offer to authorize it with your Adobe ID. Once your eDGe is registered with Adobe you will be able to transfer Google books to it using Adobe Digital Editions and read it on the e-ink. Take another look at the directions under Digital Rights Management section of my Resource Sticky to make sure you didn't miss a step. Also, check this out:

Once you figure out how to transfer your Google books, head on down to the Books section of my Resource Sticky for many additional reading resources.
