There are two devices in the DC Universe that can open the trap:
1. The Miracle Machine (from "The Legion Of Super-Heroes"): It's a machine can make thoughts reality, including altering the structure of the entire universe itself. The danger is it can turn ANY thought into reality, including stray thoughts. In fact, it's so powerful that it ends any story that it appears in (as in when it appears you instantly know how the story will end regardless of the details).
2. The X-Ionizer (from "Captain Atom"): It's a device that can alter the structure of matter, making it super hard and super sharp. As an example, you can treat a sheet of paper with it and its edges become so sharp that it can easily pass through any material.
With the above two devices, it is possible to escape the trap.
