Cool Reader is the only one does use a full font family. See my First eInk reader used Cool Reader so I am very familiar with the program and how it works.
As to publisher's defaults, I'm still a little bit of a newbie to ebooks and ereading and I'm probably not using the correct terminology. I've always thought of "publisher's defaults" as what the text looks like on the Calibre (on my laptop), Mantano, Aldiko, Bluefire and Nook.

My epubs looks exactly the same on all those apps - even down to special and embedded fonts (I tested "Three men in a boat" on them). I know that cool reader reads a lot of the css but my epubs don't look the same on cool reader as those other apps. Are you saying there's a way for an epub to look the same on coolreader as those other apps?

I tried coolreader... Can't remember why I shot it down though...
I feel that Mantano currently offers the best customizations for library management and ebook annotation. Coolreader has the best customizations for comfortable reading for those who just read and don't care about annotations/library management etc and the text still looks good (I'm looking at you Moon+!). I'm slowly, slowly converting over exclusively to Mantano but it's hard to let go of the the customized title bar that shows me the time and battery% as well as the customizable tap zones that let me navigate so quickly without bringing up any menus. I have it set up where I can toggle screen orientation, toggle night/day and bring up the TOC with just a long press on a particular screen area.

I'm beginning to feel bad that I'm going so off topic and waxing about how great Coolreader is on Mantano's forum (I'm an early adopter and use Mantano most of the time, I swear!). I think I'm gonna stop here before I get banned or something...

...back to lurking.
