Hulu Plus doesn't allow downloads, does it? That would kind of make sense, but I don't have it, so I'm not sure. Maybe they'd do a special deal with B&N?

It sounds like B&N and Amazon have the same strategy - Amazon just has more strength behind theirs. Seriously, does B&N not realize how many customers bought the NC to root it? That means their own UI and rules aren't customer friendly, but it's the safeguard tactic to lock people into buying from their store. I'll be honest, if the Nook was as open as I'd like it to be, I'd buy it and not use it for B&N content, unless they were offering something better and cheaper than the other guy, so I can understand the business angle ... I just don't have to like it.
