You want something you are going to be happy with not settled for. It doesn't hurt to splurge once in awhile.
That's kind of where I my reasoning is starting to go. Mike actually has complained that I don't splurge enough. And by god, he's going to Vegas with buddies in December and I'm not (it's either Vegas or our honeymoon, I choose honeymoon! He makes twice as much as I do, and he deserves a break after grad school and crazy insane work).

I didn't mind the weight of the Nook, I just didn't like the interface, but a lot of people love it, so I must be particular ;-) Plus, I don't want to be locked in and don't trust myself to root it right. The Flyer comes to $75 (with the taxes) than the old A1 price. Now the A1 is available for preorder on Amazon for $199 (16GB), no tax, free ship, etc. BUT, someone pointed out on the Lenovo forums that the Amazon one has a different model number than Lenovo's site listings, so they're wondering if these are remanufactured already or something. There's no info on that specific model.

Put in a pre-order, which I can easily cancel if I finally decide to do the Flyer all by myself or wait for Mike to do it for Christmas. Logic says wait for Christmas, but I've been waiting since the end of September for a replacement that's mine and not my work one.

The NookTab is intriguing, but only if B&N is more open, which I doubt. ::sigh::
