I feel your pain. I've been looking at the Fire again too. What concerns me most is that there's no SD card (I'm not fond of the idea of "cloud storage") and the 7" screen. I'd prefer a slightly larger display (8" to 9" would be ideal for me). The hardware does look good otherwise, though. I'll be interested in Fire owners' comments regarding limitations that Amazon has put on the device. It seems like it's designed primarily as an Amazon media-consumption tablet. There will be many other Android tablets coming out within the next few months and retailers probably will be discounting older devices since some of the new devices will have the latest Android 4.0 (dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich), so for now I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude. But the Fire is still very tempting!
