My point was, its all in your head (and in everbody elses too)

Really what we consider expensive/cheap on color/feeling has a lot to do with market culture, and what past devices looked like... now some notebooks for example have this high-reflective finish to look precious, to give the people associations of expensive pianos that looked like this. Thats for me crap. No finish stores your fingerprints better , and if you don't want to clean your device all the time: hands off from high-gloss finish..

I think much more important than our expensive/cheap associations is reading ergonomy. There is reasearch that a light border color is better for the eyes than a black, thats why today black TFT-screens do not get the TCO99 quality mark. I think this might have been a main reason why iRex switched to silver... if they actually did they job well reading about ergonomy studies, if not they were just lucky....
