The eastern world it is explodin',
Violence flarin', bullets loadin',
You're old enough to kill but not for votin',
You don't believe in war, but what's that gun you're totin',
And even the Jordan river has bodies floatin',
But you tell me over and over and over again my friend,
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

Think of all the hate there is in Red China!
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama!
Ah, you may leave here, for four days in space,
But when your return, it's the same old place,
The poundin' of the drums, the pride and disgrace,
You can bury your dead, but don't leave a trace,
Hate your next-door-neighbour, but don't forget to say grace,
And you tell me over and over and over and over again my friend,
you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction. mmm, no, no.
you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.

'morning, all. Tuesday is here again. Taylors of Harrogate's "Yorkshire" tea in my cup, and a bowl of miso soup, rice, and tsukemono for breakfast. Busy day to today. Have to get some new shoes for my bike.. Almost $500 USD that I'd rather spend on ice cream or street food, but soon the winter rains will be falling and I hate the idea of slipping all over the road every time I try to stop!

I'm with old Benjamin Franklin, who said “Anyone who trades liberty for security deserves neither.” As Anh says, all too often we go too far.
I think this following quote really tells the story, and I've lived most of my life by its idea:
"
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing." by Helen Keller
If it's good enough for a brilliant blind and deaf woman, who am I to say I'm too frightened to try?
With that thought in mind, and another mug of Yorkshire tea in my belly, I'm off to get my pony re-shod!
