There are very detailed explanations of the "magic system", yes, but for me, this enhances the book, rather than being detrimental to the story.

I noticed that
Mistborn showed up on my Audible recommendations. I went ahead and bought the first one, and am listening now. A plus for me, if it's a good book -- it's nearly 25 hours of listening for a single credit.
