Yes I wondered about this too. When I used to read pbooks I never used a portable light. When I was a kid reading late into the night I could have used one though - I used a torch hidden under my sheets! But now that I am an adult and allowed to read as late as I want I just use a lamp.
I do have a clip on light for my ereader (I bought it because people here made me think I would need one) but on the rare occassion I have needed to use it (twice on a flight when my seat light didn't work) I didn't have it with me...
