The Sony Reader certainly can make a splash - I remember this from the early days of owning a PRS-500 when no-one else owned a ebook reader. "It's a Sony!" was heard with a note of jealousy from one fellow traveller at least..
Purchasing a Sony Reader now would be a matter of financial decision though. The old one is perfectly fine for what I need right now though.
